After opening file to post transactions I get a message "No space for Memo record! Need to increase file size." I have increased file size and have checked to not post memos. Still transactions will not post and the message repeat.

Hello, thank you for your question.

Did you select System Reconfiguration | Change File Sizes and increase the Allocated Number of memos? Typically this message appears when you are about to exceed your allocated number of memos. It sounds like you already tried this but I just want to double-check.

You are right, un-checking the 'memos from comments' and 'memo from name' options will still prompt you with the “No space for Memo record!” message if you don’t have enough potential memo spaces allocated. However, once there are enough additional memos allocated this message should not appear and no actual memos will be added to your data.

I’d like to gather some more information for this problem:

1. On the Change Files Sizes screen for memos what is your number used, highest used, and allocated number?

2. Does this problem happen when using the Sample data? This would determine if the problem is program or data related.

3. Have you tried running Test & Correct? Does it identify any problems?

Let me know what you find out.

I now have the posting working. I have to open FN to my personal data, switch to a broker data file, back to my personal data and it now works.

I used the fix and the memo entries were 335 used and max 335 and 1000 allocated, but that didn't fix the problem. I will use the method described above. Thank you for your response.
