Hello,

I am using BankLink. I have a mastercard issued by CitiBank. Banklink cannot find my bank account (credit card number) in the "ofx" file and asks me to verify the account number (which I have done) and the downloaded data file name (which I have done) At the Citibank website I have choosen the quicken file type. I have changed the Qfx and Ofx file attributes and tried associating the bank number with Mastercard, Citibank, and other ofx/qfx banks, to no avail. I would appreciate any ideas on how to solve this problem.

Hello Richard,

Here are a few things to consider regarding this problem:

1. In order to open your CitiBank ofx file, the Acct# of the credit card account you are posting to in FN must match the account number in the ofx file.

2. The account number in your ofx file should be the same number that is on your credit card statement or on the CitiBank website.

Look at the Asset & Liability information screen for your credit card account and make sure that the Acct# field matches the number you have on your statement or the CitiBank website.

It is possible that the account number shown on the CitiBank website does not exactly match the one on your printed statements. Perhaps they add or omit certain numbers.

Let us know if you still have difficulty opening your ofx file.

George,

Thank you for your reply.

I checked the account number in the asset/liability information screen and found that I had recorded the account number plus the last three digits on the back of my card. I have truncated these digits in this field and now have only 16 digits. This did not do the trick. I still am getting the verification error screen. I have checked the website and they do list the 16 digits with the first twelve x'd out. They also use hyphens. I have tried hyphens to no avail. I have checked my credit card statement and found only 16 digits. What "bank" do you recommend that I associate with this account Citibank or Mastercard? I have run out of ideas on how to crack this case. Please let ne know what you recommend that I do next to try to solve this problem.

Thank You, Richard

Solution Found

The Citibank Mastercard downloaded data file will open when all but the last four digits of the sixteen digits are x'ed out.
