I am just loading the beginning information into the Chart of Accounts. How are the call options from the prior year entered? I went to HELP and couldn't find any info on recording call options. Thanks.

The information is in Help under Recording a Written Option. There are several different option write ups for you to review. If you are starting brand new books for an entity and need to enter just the A/L information on a previous year option transaction: enter the number of units (underlying shares of the option), the cost basis and tax basis as negative numbers. The premium received for the option goes in the proceeds field. And the format type is traded options/warrants. Please respond to this post if your problem is not resolved.

Note Pamela's reply is for written options. If you are purchasing an option, enter as a regular investment purchase (you'll get a "buy security" prompt). For purchased options, numbers are postive, not negative. Also, in general, for entity that is new to Navigator but already exists in the real world, the best way to get started is create the Chart of Accounts & A/L Info in the previous year (with no transactions) and then Begin a New Year. - David FNI Technical Support
