I do not want any transactions memorized, but they all seem to be. This causes problems when trying to add stock to accounts already set up, and notes receivable. The names of some of these accounts are similar, but not the same. i have tried using the "null auto entry", but it doesn't always work, and it doesn't stay on for very long.

Also see the onscreen Help section on Automatic Entries.

Each time you set up a new payee in transaction entry, an automatic entry is also set up. If you Null that automatic entry, the payee is kept, but no accounts are associated with it and you can enter the appropriate account each time you use it.
