I need to understand the Navigator ROI reports better. For instance, the ROI manual explains time-weighted return vs. dollar weighted and IRR but still don't get it. When do I need to revalue my securities? Why is the annualized return different from what I expect?

Good questions. Instead of trying to answer them here, you might want to order the Global Investments Performance Standards (GIPSŪ) Handbook, Second Edition, 2007. It is available from the CFA at http://www.efastcom.com/CFABookstore/control/productdetails?item_id=061101 for $40. It is a good investment for anyone wanted to learn more about ROI and performance reporting. It sets the reporting standards that Navigator ROI follows.

We have had a number of requests from ROI users for help understanding performance reporting concepts. Look for a white paper to be posted on the Navigator Resource Center soon.
