Our desktops have Windows 2000 Professional. I don't know what OS our server has. Will we be able to run Navigator 9.0?

The short answer is yes. Generally, as long as Microsoft supports an OS we will try to make Navigator compatible.

Windows 2000 will be around for a couple more years but you should start planning now to replace it. Windows 2000 is on "Extended Support" as of 6/30/2005. Windows 2000 Professional was last sold by Microsoft to users 3/31/2000 and OEMs 3/31/2005. The last Service Pak (SP4) was 6/26/03 and no more are planned. Monthly security updates are still available through 2010. However, Internet Explorer 7 is not available for Windows 2000, which means a lot of Web applications may not run at least as more migrate to IE features.

Regardless of the OS, we recommend 2 GB RAM on your desktop running Navigator, 1 GB minimum. 4 GB recommened for Windows Vista. If your desktop has much less RAM and can't take more, it's time to upgrade.
